Impacting lives through research

Diagnosis in the palm of your hand

Dr Hamid Abbasi says a cerebral palsy diagnostic app that turns people’s own phones into diagnostic tools could be rolled out within 2-3 years.

Bringing back joy to people’s lives

Swallowing disorders can make people feel isolated and afraid. But with the right treatment, they're able to enjoy life again.

Genetic research with lasting impact

The lives of 11 families have been transformed with a diagnosis that could only have been reached through pioneering genetic research.

Treatments, preventions, even cures. Can you help them become a reality?

Investing in future stars

Helping early-career researchers connect, exchange ideas and continue learning is a vital part of growing the next generation.

A Neurological Foundation-supported retreat at Leigh brought together 30 early-career researchers from across New Zealand. The purpose: to lay the foundation for future neurological research that’s inter-disciplinary, collaborative and impactful. Everyone presented their own research and learned how to work effectively across different fields. The workshop was a huge success, with excellent speakers, engaging sessions and very practical advice.
