I'm fundraising for the Neurological Foundation of New Zealand in memory of my Dad, Frank Easton, who passed away in 2024 following complications from a stroke a few years earlier.
What am I fundraising for? My goal is to help fund two Summer Studentships, with the aim of enticing bright young minds into a lifelong career in neurological research.
Why? Dad spent his whole life as an educator, firstly in the Artillery helping young lads to read & write. Then as a Physics Teacher at Secondary School, inspiring young minds into the world of science. He would love to hear about the next generations getting "inspired into" research, knowing that it also helps those living with the effects of the 700+ neurological conditions.
How? Aside from teaching, Dad loved to travel, exploring new places. Thus my plan involves a journey, which he would have loved. I'll be doing a self funded motorbike ride around the outside of Australia (16,000+ km) in April / May 2026. He'll be 'sitting on my shoulder' during the travels enjoying the views and experiences.
Please help Dad and I inspire the next generation of neurological researchers by clicking on the donate button and following me on the journey.
